Sonus is an interactive sound work which produces ‘drone’ frequencies through an analogue circuit. Performing as both sculpture and musical instrument, Sonus allows the audience to create ambient soundscapes in collaboration with Allan Giddy’s wind-responsive installation Zephyr. The closing of a circuit as the stylus touches the aluminium on each element of the work generates a scale of notes, with longer holds sustaining a longer drone frequency.

Erin is an emerging artist and teacher who works on the unceded Gadigal land of the Eora Nation. She explores the tensions of noise and space in a practice that spans the mediums of drawing, sculpture and sound. Erin collaborates with Allan Giddy in the sound project Bay of Malaise, making dark sound collages with analogue synthesisers.
