Ten years ago, Desert Equinox came to Broken Hill. All who took part in this exhibition of solar-powered artworks, which was installed all around the city, witnessed the transformative power of community: the development of strong relationships between the artists and Broken Hill locals and arts workers was clearly critical to the success of the show, and ongoing goodwill surrounds its memory. These relationships have strengthened and deepened over the intervening decade, and will contribute once again to a shared celebration of the value of art and performance in Desert Equinox 10th Anniversary.
